After successful implementation of the Green Prisons Program in Puzhal
Central Prison, which is now producing large quantities of vegetables
through organic methods, Nizhal has moved on to initiate a similar
program in all the Central Prisons in Tamil Nadu on the request of the
Prison Department.

Nizhal now works with Central Prisons in:

• Madurai
• Palayamkottai
• Coimbatore
• Thiruchirapalli
• Pudukottai,
• Salem
• Vellore

Besides greening their campus with trees and ornamental shrubs, and
the cultivation of organic vegetables, sensitive composting practices
have been imparted by Resource Persons from Nizhal.
